2 Days in LA: Highlights for a Short Trip to Los Angeles

Hey Elite Babes, if you haven’t heard I celebrated my birthday in Los Angeles with my Leo sister Ciarah (CEO of Curliversity) yes we’re real sisters and our birthday’s are only 5 days apart! Due to me and my fiance’s work schedule I had to keep my trip to a short weekend getaway, but of course your girl still took advantage of the opportunity and made sure I tried out some dope things out there on the west coast.

Safe to say I am now dying to go back and give myself a whole 5 days over there! Cali was everything I imagined and more. Keep reading below to check out my must-sees on a Short Trip to Los Angeles.

OUE was everything. You ride the elevator all the way to the 70th floor of the tallest open-air observation deck in California. Once you step out of the elevator and on to the observation deck you can see a complete view of Los Angeles and its uniqueness. OUE Skyspace provides interactive games and activities, a full bar, lounge area, and the SKYSLIDE.

The Skyslide is an outdoor glass slide positioned nearly 1,000 feet above Downtown Los Angeles. The Skyslide is made entirely of clear glass and extends forty-five feet long, from the 70th floor to the 69th floor. I’m afraid of heights, but the view and experience made me push ALL that fear aside and go on this dope ass ride. I can’t wait to go back to L.A and ride the SkySlide in the daytime!

As a first time L.A tourist, I was dying to try their popular street food and other restaurants I’ve never been to. The top of my list has to be Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffle’s (bomb ok!) I had the Obama special - shout out to my President.

The WORST has to go to the Mexican fruit cups. I love fruit and this one was disappointing because it looked so pretty lol. The fruit vendors were hard to miss with their colorful umbrellas and wide variety of fruit. My fruit cup came with freshly chilled & sliced mango, watermelon and blueberries. Sounds good right?…. Then the woman asked, “do you want Tajín and fresh lime juice.” - I should’ve said no, but the tourist in me said “Sure!” Long story short, spicy Mexican salt and lime juice do NOT go on fruit. #period

Museums in Los Angeles, CA are dope. Depending on your interests, there are soooo many to choose from like: Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Griffith Observatory, The Hollywood Museum, Madame Tussauds Hollywood, The Museum of Illusions, and the Museum of Selfies just to name a few.

The museum I decided to visit was the Museum of Selfie! It's and interactive museum with themed rooms encouraging you to take as many selfies as you want. Of course I had fun in there lol. Next time I visit LA I'm going to check out the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, can't wait!

Hollywood Blvd is the home to many LA tourist attractions and where I spent majority of my time on my trip. On this iconic street you can find people dressed in costumes, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you can see the Hollywood sign up in the hills, get street food from vendors and so much more. This street gave me NYC and Las Vegas vibes from the amount of people walking around. There were people selling, buying, taking pictures, laughing, smiling... simply enjoying life - I loved it!

Sadly I missed out on this gem due to my short stay in LA, but my sister captured some beautiful pictures. Jealous, ok. This will be the first place I go on my next visit to LA.

Hey, have you ever been to L.A or currently live there? Drop me a comment below and tell me one place I should go on my next trip to the west coast!!
